Singapore Won by 42 runs

Vanuatu won the toss and elected Singapore to bat first. Arjun M was dismissed in the 2nd ball of the morning and before long Surendran C (#3) was back in the hut leaving Singapore 2 wkts down for 15. At this juncture Tim D (63) and Rohan R (45) combined to put together a much needed 110 run partnership. However both Rohan R and Tim D departed in the 30th ovr with the score reading 125 for 4 in the space of 2 deliveries. Navin P (23) batted bravely with a cut open chin, which occured during an attempted sweep and joined Aryaman U who scored a power packed 51 not out to take Singapore passed the 200 and to a toal of 217/7 (50).

Chasing 218 Vanuatu lost 4-30 in 8.1 overs before R tari (35) & N Nipiko (77) combined to put together a 109 run partnership for the 5th wkt giving Singapore a few headaches and Vanuatu hope of an upset. Vinoth B 2 for 21 stepped in to remove Nipiko and start the final rights.

Captain Amjad M 3 for 20; returning to the side after missing the previous game due to a family funeral, bowled with great intent and blasted away the Vanuatu resistance with a combination of well directed bouncers followed by clinical yorkers. But Aryaman U 4 for 45 was the stand out bowler and every time Singapore was facing the heat THE FIREMAN” stepped in to deliver the Control and strikes that the team required.

For his outstanding alround performance Aryaman U was named Man of the Match.

Singapore take on Malaysia tomorrow at Kinrara Oval.
